Product Photography

Have you ever wondered why some people sell more of their handmade goods at markets, on Etsy, and other online sellers?  Yes, sometimes their goods may be better quality than others, but generally it is how the products are displayed and portrayed.

If a person has quality photographs of their products, they will present those products in the best possible way.  These quality photos will have good lighting, a simple background without distractions, and ideal focus.  The biggest mistake a seller can make is to snap a cell-phone pic in a poorly-lit room, with distractions in the background.

Think about the last handmade item you may have purchased online, and try to remember: would you have chosen the one with the well-lit photograph, or the one that looked like someone took it while the item was sitting on a cluttered coffee table with toys in the background?  I would personally think that the latter seller didn't care much about his/her work because it is not presented in the best way possible.  Either that, or that the work may be sloppy, since they couldn't take time to clean off a table before using it for photos, that means they probably didn't take all of the time they needed to make the best product.

I am always happy to work with artisans and small-business owners to take quality photographs of their items at a reasonable cost.  As a small-business owner myself, I like to support others in the same situation.  If you think you would like some photos taken for your business, please message me at photosbykellyinfo@gmail.com
